Online Faculty

The online faculty at Globe University/Minnesota School of Business is a group of instructors with both professional experience and academic qualifications. These dedicated individuals provide rich course content, informal mentoring and ongoing support to students. During weekly office hours, they can be reached by phone, email and IM. 

Dr. Cheryl L. Anderson, licensed physical therapist, board certified geriatric clinical specialist

  • Doctorate in Health Services Management with a concentration in Health Policy, Walden University
  • Master of Business Administration, University of St Thomas, St Paul, MN
  • Bachelor of Arts in Physical Therapy, College of St Scholastica, Duluth, MN

Dr. Anderson has been a licensed physical therapist for more than 32 years. For much of her career she has focused on issues of older adults, rural health, health promotion and ethics.

A clinician, educator, researcher and writer, Dr. Anderson lives with her husband and their chubby golden retriever in Alexandria, MN. She has a college-aged daughter who lives in Fargo, ND. In addition to work and family, Dr. Anderson has hobbies including knitting and sewing.

Meredith Butulis, ACSM certified Health Fitness Specialist, Pilates instructor certified by Balanced Body University

  • Doctoratee in Physical Therapy with an emphasis in Education from Northeastern University
  • Masters in Physical Therapy from Boston University
  • Bachelors in Health Studies with minors in Psychology and Dance from Boston University

Meredith has worked in the fitness field since 1998, and in physical therapy since 2002. She formerly was a personal training manager, trainer and group fitness instructor. Her employers have included Wellbridge Athletic Club in Boston, MA and Northwest Athletic Club/Lifetime Fitness in St. Louis Park, MN.

Currently, Meredith works in the field as a physical therapist in an out-patient sports and orthopedic practice. She also collaborates in research and education projects with TRIA Orthopedic Center, Minnesota Dance Medicine and Just for Kix.

Meredith’s teaching experience includes writing and presenting national and regional education for the Wellbridge Company and Lifetime Fitness. She has also been an instructor with our college since 2007.

Ioana Constantin, Microsoft OfficeCertified Master Instructor

Ioana has been with the online division for over 8 years.  Currently Ioana is the Online Information Technology Program Chair. She has developed many of our information technology courses for online delivery.

Positions she has held include Database Developer and Systems Engineer at Aqua Nova in Bucharest, where she transitioned into an IT Training Manager role. She is passionate about education and IT training and started a non-profit training company (Infotricks) which now delivers computer training courses to more than 5000 students in 12 schools in Bucharest. Ioana has also led many IT training sessions at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Institute and Pemco. Ioana participates in Microsoft Learning exam development sessions as a subject matter expert.

Ioana, her husband and children previously lived in and loved Minneapolis.  They now live in the Seattle, WA, area and enjoy the Pacific Northwest with lots of skiing, biking and hiking.

Ioana encourages all students to use Campus Connect’s instant messaging service, Pronto, and e-mail to stay connected with instructors, and to take full advantage of the great materials provided with our courses, and learn more about IT through reading, discussions, and experimenting with new technologies!

Brian Craig

  • Juris Doctorate, University of Idaho College of Law

Brian is program chair for the legal sciences in the online division . He teaches constitutional issues, intellectual property, cyber law and legal research. An adjunct instructor from 2005-2008, Brian became a full-time instructor in March 2008 and assumed his current role in January 2009.

Prior to teaching at our schools, Brian Craig worked as an attorney at Thomson-Reuters from 2002-2008, as a legal editor for Wolters Kluwer, judicial law clerk for Idaho District Court Judge Carl Kerrick and legislative aide for Senator George Runner in the California state legislature. He has also served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Minnesota Law School and an articles reviewer for the American Business Law Journal.

His research interests focus on intellectual property, privacy, and constitutional issues with emerging technologies. He has written scholarly articles appearing in the North Dakota Law Review, Real Estate Law Journal, Real Estate Review, Perspectives: Teaching Legal & Writing, and Raven: A Journal of Vexillology. Brian is currently writing a cyberlaw textbook for Pearson. He currently lives in Providence, Utah, with his wife and two sons.

Jeff Davis

  • Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance
  • Bachelor's in Economics

Business Program Chair for the Online Division, Jeff teaches courses on topics including investments and business management the Business Management. He began teaching college courses about 15 years ago and loved it so much that he has been teaching part-time ever since.  Jeff started with us in 2004 and has taught for the online division since 2007. 

Also an entrepreneur, Jeff started his first business in 1983.  His current enterprise, an LLP that he founded about ten years ago, provides asset management (stocks, bonds, options, futures, and other assets) for individual investors as well as consulting for small businesses and start-ups. 

Jeff lives in Salt Lake City, Utah.  When he is not working, he enjoys entertaining his dogs, practicing his photography skills, watching or reading sci-fi, rowing, and playing computer games. 

Kathy Goodrich

  • Master of Business Administration
  • Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business

Kathy has been teaching various online business, math and economics courses with us since 2007. She is a strong believer in the value of education, a perspective that enriches her work as an instructor and as a student.

Her background includes over 20 years in the agriculture business. She has worked in management as well as finance and human resources. She is currently involved in marketing and development with a small, local company. She enjoys sharing her practical experiences with students.

On a personal note, Kathy has three children, who keep her very busy, and enjoys training and showing horses.

Nancy Hislop

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, University of St. Catherine, St. Paul, MN

Nancy has practiced as a nurse in Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Ohio, and finds it fascinating to compare medical practice from state to state!  Along the way, she has been privileged to care for veterans in three Veteran's Administration hospitals, has worked in both large and small private hospitals, in public health, in long-term care and in staff development.

She has taught since 1975 and has been with the online division for six years.  Nancy is an expert in curriculum development and a contributor to several medical dictionaries and other texts. 

Nancy and her husband love to travel, especially to Lake Superior’s North Shore.  She volunteers with local public health nurses, at her church and with the Lions Club.  She also enjoys reading, sewing, cooking, and hanging out with her cat, Sam.

Sam Osterhout

  • Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, Hamline University, Saint Paul, Minnesota
  • Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing, University of Kansas

Sam is the creator, head writer, and host of Radio Happy Hour, a live variety show that began in June 2009 in New York City. The show, which features popular musicians and entertainers as guest stars, is centered around a radio-style murder mystery/comedy, in which the guest stars play themselves. Previous guests have included Norah Jones, Michael Showalter, The Hold Steady, Murray Hill, Cursive, Jesse Eisenberg, and more.

Osterhout co-wrote and performed in over 35 episodes of his previous radio narrative, The Electric Arc Radio Show, which ran for over two years in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and was broadcast on Minnesota Public Radio’s The Current. The Electric Arc was an hour-long episodic comedy, also taped before a live audience, which was loosely based on the lives of four writers who shared a home in South Minneapolis. In addition to writing radio sitcoms, Osterhout has written television sitcom pilots, web series and feature films.

Osterhout’s writing has also appeared in City Pages (Minneapolis), The Pulse (Minneapolis), The Rake (Minneapolis), The Onion A/V Club (Minneapolis), VitaMN (Minneapolis), MNArts.com (Minneapolis), InDigest Magazine (online), Bathtub Gin, and elsewhere. His story, Soap, was a finalist in the 2003 GlimmerTrain fiction contest for new writers. 

Sam teaches humanities and writing courses at our school.

Julie Phillip

  • Master of Science in Psychology, Capella University, Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology, Park University, Parkville, Missouri

Julie is currently in ABD status for her doctoral degree in education from Capella University. She teaches social science and other general education courses.  Julie is also the service learning coordinator for the online division.   

Cheryl Powers

Cheryl has been teaching with our online division since 2000. A licensed teacher with 18 years of teaching experience, she teaches business writing and business communications. 

She also serves on the Advisory Board for eFolio Minnesota, and is actively involved in Kappa Delta Pi – Education Honorary, National Council of Teachers of English, Minnesota Career College Association, and Alpha Lambda Delta.  She serves as vice president of the Associated Women Students at Western Michigan University. 

Scott Rudeen

  • Master’s Degree in Law Enforcement Management with an emphasis in Organizational Change and leadership, Metropolitan State University
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement from Metropolitan State University 

Scott has completed all but his dissertation in education with an emphasis in youth violence from Capella University.

Our Criminal Justice Online Program Chair, Scott also works as a state trooper for the Minnesota State Patrol. Past positions include deputy sheriff for the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, water patrol deputy for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, community service officer for the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport Police Department, and loss prevention specialist for Marshalls Department Store. 

Melonie Sebring

  • Master of Arts in Educational Technology, Saint Mary’s University
  • Bachelor of Science, Kansas State University

Melonie also possesses a realtor’s license and Microsoft Expert Certification in Excel, Word, and Access.  Melonie has been an online instructor with our school for 11 years. She loves the flexibility that online courses offer to both students and faculty.

Heather Thomton-Stockman

  • Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English, Concordia College, Moorhead, MN

Heather teaches communications, social science and business courses, including Mass Communications, Intercultural Communications, Interpersonal Communications, Art of Persuasion, Organizational Behavior, The Researcher's Role in Business, Composition, Writing and Research, Creative Writing and Speech Communications.

Jim Walsh

  • Master of Business Administration, University of Pittsburgh
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics, Clarion St. University

Jim has found a challenging and rewarding career with our schools. Jim was on the ground floor when our online program was started. Since then he has developed and taught a number of online courses in economics and business. He strives to move beyond the textbook and bring the real world of business into all of his courses.

Before beginning his teaching career, Jim spent 15 years working for ITT, a multi-national company. He started as a management trainee, and progressed into operations management with profit center responsibility. After earning his MBA he joined division headquarters as a senior analyst.
