Military Service Scholarship for Injured Vets


If you or a member of your family was injured in service in Iraq or Afghanistan, we at Globe University/Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB) extend our appreciation of your contribution to our nation’s security, and are prepared to help you in your transition to civilian life. In addition to career counseling, we provide service members and vets with assistance in defraying the cost of education through financial aid.

Globe University/Minnesota School of Business Military Service Scholarship

Military personnel with severe injuries suffered during service in Iraq and Afghanistan, and who are participants in the Severely Injured Joint Operations Center, are eligible for the Globe University/Minnesota School of Business Military Service Scholarship. Families of thse veterans are also eligible.  Contact us to learn more. 

The Severely Injured Joint Operations Center

To facilitate the transition of military personnel back to civilian life, the Department of Defense recently opened the Severely Injured Joint Operations Center. The Center deals specifically with issues concerning care, recuperation, health, and benefits for men and women returning from military service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Scholarship award amounts

If you or your family member satisfies the qualifying criteria below, a scholarship may be awarded according the type of degree program it will be applied to: 

  • $1,000 for applicants enrolled in diploma programs  
  • $2,500 for applicants enrolled in associate degree programs  
  • $5,000 for applicants enrolled in bachelor’s degree programs

Award amounts are designated for tuition only and are divided in 1/4 increments unless the student is enrolled in a three-quarter program, in which case it will be awarded in 1/3 increments. Recipients will be notified in writing of the award once the application has been received along with the required documentation.

Scholarship eligibility criteria: 

  •  Recipients must provide proof of participation in the Severely Injured Joint Operations Center as either the injured service member, or as the spouse or child of the injured service member (documentation of family status required
  • If a student fails to carry a minimum of 9 credits per quarter and maintain satisfactory academic progress the award is forfeited from that point forward
  • Awards are forfeited if attendance is discontinued or interrupted
