Bart Seebach has been an attorney since 1985 and was a founding partner of Seebach & Seebach, a private law firm in Los Angeles, California. His first position after law school was with a business law firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota, doing business litigation—much of the practice in products liability defense. Following that, he moved to New York City and did business litigation with a midtown Manhattan law office—much of the practice related to securities trading and takeover transactions. After a winter vacation to southern California, he moved to Los Angeles and did business litigation with a branch office of a New York law firm, one of the world’s largest firms—much of the practice related to energy, insurance and reinsurance, and financial products. After the birth of his first child, he began a part-time solo practice as a generalist, practicing business advice, estate planning and probate, and even some criminal defense. That solo practice eventually became Seebach & Seebach, a firm in which he did primarily business advising and contracts for a wide variety of small and medium-sized businesses and helped to manage the business litigation practice, which focused on environmental litigation. At the end of 2005, he retired from private practice.

Bart’s experience in private education, before teaching for Minnesota School of Business/Globe Education Network, began in Los Angeles. He worked as a volunteer in one public and one private high school, and led one parent-teacher organization for several years. Loving the work in education, Bart chose to enroll in a degree program at St. Mary’s University in Winona, and he earned a Master of Arts in Instruction degree there in 2006. You can still find his commencement address on the university’s website as of this writing (January 2009).
