Kristin Bruner

I currently live in the Washington, DC area, where I came for law school a number of years ago after finishing high school at Choate Rosemary Hall where I received Honors in History and Social Science. I received my undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University with a major in Humanistic Area Studies, emphasis Writing Seminars and English Literature, and a minor in Psychology. While there I worked for two years at Johns Hopkins Hospital in play therapy at the Children's Hospital. I also assisted on research for the first textbook on Gender and Psychology. I acquired my J.D. at American University's Washington College of Law. My emphasis areas were Legal Writing, Research, Intellectual Property, Real Estate, and Wills and Trusts. While there I completed the first legal paper independently researched on the Internet from what we could determine. This was an analysis of the use of the insanity defense since the Hinckley trial and written for use by a professor for his new book.

I finished law school and worked as a ghostwriter and a legal researcher. I began online teaching as well shortly thereafter. I have been teaching online for almost a decade, which in such a new field is unusual. I have taught for several different colleges and universities and like to mix my courses between legal classes like Paralegal Studies, MBA courses, and Contract Law, and communications and humanities courses like the History of Art, Music, and Literature and Writing classes. I think it helps to keep my skills as a Professor and an individual well rounded.

I teach full-time, so you hopefully will find that I can be very available to you when you have questions or concerns. As well as working as a professor, I am a successful artist and show nationally and internationally every year. I paint in the area of Geometric Abstractionism. Working full time as an online professor gives me the luxury of being able to travel when I have a show to hang.
