Information Technology (IT) Bachelor's Degree Program


The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree program at Globe University/Minnesota School of Business provides graduates with a unique advantage:

Core requirements for the Bachelors’ in Information Technology degree

Requirements for the Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at GU/MSB are designed to provide rigorous technical training and a solid background in business and the liberal arts. Our students interact with IT instructors who have extensive and impressive industry experience, and provide valuable insight into professional issues.   • IT courses provide rigorous training in computer programming, database design, networking, security and other technical topics. Students will be prepared for a variety of industry certifications.
  • Business courses: Students are also required to take 32 credits of business and general electives. Business electives are encouraged in order to provide students with a sound contextual background for careers in IT and other industries.
  • Liberal arts: According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 92% of information technology professionals work outside of the IT industry. Students in the bachelor’s degree program are required to complete a minimum of 55 credits in liberal arts, providing the global perspective to apply their technical training in a wide range of situations.

Elective concentrations in the bachelor's degree program

  • Networking and Security: An elective concentration for networking and security professionals, this concentration prepares a student to enter the field as a security maintenance specialist.
  • Business Application Programming: This concentration prepares students to design, modify and support applications that support business operations.
