Nursing Seminars: Are You Ready for a Nursing Program?

We are currently accepting applications for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program offered at our Richfield, MN, campus. If you are interested in applying to the BSN program, please attend an informational nursing seminar. The session will cover admission criteria, program expectations and graduation requirements. You will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Bachelor’s in nursing: minimum admission requirements

Applicants who have taken college-level coursework must have:

  • A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or greater for all college-level coursework taken.
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended.
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better maintained from time of acceptance to the program to the start of first quarter nursing courses.
  • Completed within the last five years, with a grade of C or better, high school or college-level general biology, or the equivalent, with a lab; and high school or college-level general chemistry, or the equivalent, with a lab.

Applicants with a high school diploma must have:

  • Submission of diploma or GED.
  • Official transcripts from high school or institution attended.
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or greater for all high school-level coursework taken.
  • Completed within the last five years, with a grade of C or better, high school or college-level general biology, or the equivalent, with a lab; and high school or college-level general chemistry, or the equivalent, with a lab.

All applicants must also:

  • Take the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills).
  • Submit a personal statement of applicant's educational and career goals as they relate to the profession of nursing at the baccelaureate-level of practice.
  • Show proof of meeting nursing assistant competency by documentation of one of the following:
  1. Completion within the last five years, with a passing grade, of a federally approved nursing assistant (NA) class.
  2. Experience within the last five years as a nursing assistant, with documentation of experience on letterhead from the employer, including a detailed job description that verifies skills.
  3. A passing grade on the Nursing Assistant Test-Out exam within the last five years.
  4. Current listing on the Nursing Assistant Registry in Minnesota.
