Medical Assistant Certifications

At Globe University/Minnesota School of Business, we prepare students for medical assistant certification exams and other professional credentials valued by employers in the health-care industry. Below are summaries of available certification training. Please contact a college representative for detailed information

ARRT Limited Scope of Practice in Radiology

A core requirement of our Medical Assistant Associate degree program is a course in radiology. Students receive hands-on instruction using professional-quality X-ray equipment and working with other students on positioning, safety and technical processing of radiology. The course prepares students for the Limited Scope of Practice in Radiology exam given by the American Registry of Radiographic Technicians (ARRT). For qualified GU/MSB students, the fees associated with this test are defrayed by the Professional Certification Scholarship.

Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)

Our Medical Assistant Diploma program and our A.A.S. in Medical Assistant degree program prepare students for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam, offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). The CMA (AAMA) exam is a challenging, comprehensive test. To help our students succeed, a core requirement of either program is a three-credit college course, the Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) Review Seminar. For qualified GU/MSB students, the fees associated with this test are defrayed by the Professional Certification Scholarship.

More professional certifications for medical assistants

It is our goal to provide practical, career-oriented skills training. In the course of completing requirements for the degree and diploma program, students in either medical assistant program receive the following certifications:

  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • First Aid
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
