Massage therapy techniques/modalities taught at Globe University/Minnesota School of Business include fundamental and advanced methods, and provide our graduates with skills that set them apart from other therapists.
Our advanced massage therapy technique classes are appropriate for experienced massage therapists who are enhancing their professional credentials through continuing education credits (CECs), certifications and licensures.
Massage therapy technique training, diploma program
Students preparing for the Massage Therapy Diploma program receive training in the following fundamental and advanced spa techniques:

Swedish Massage: Introduction to skills and knowledge necessary for completion of a full body Swedish massage.

Pregnancy/Special Populations Massage: Introduction to pregnancy massage, geriatric massage and hospice massage.

Myofascial Release: Introductory skills and knowledge necessary to manipulate connective tissue by performing a full-body myofascial release routine.

Hot Stone Massage/Spa Techniques: Introduction to spa techniques, including: aromatherapy, body wraps, hot stone massage and reflexology.

Deep Tissue/Trigger Point Massage: Introduction to techniques that affect and manipulate deep tissue.

Introduction to Thai Massage/Energy Work: Introduction to Thai Massage and Energy Work techniques.

Sports Massage: Introduction to common rehabilitative and sport injury conditions and symptoms.
Advanced massage modality training, associate program
Students preparing for the Associate in Applied Science in Massage Therapy degree are trained in all above massage modalities, and receive additional advanced training:

Craniosacral Therapy/Lymphatic Drainage Therapies (sometimes referred to as cranial sacral therapy): Introduction to the advanced skills and knowledge necessary to perform a full craniosacral treatment and lymphatic drainage treatment.
In addition to the above training in specific massage therapy techniques, students in the A.A.S. in Massage Therapy program receive related science and medical training in areas including kinesiology, physiology, anatomy, and health care law and ethics; and study business communications, the business of massage and liberal arts.
