The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Massage Therapy degree program at Globe University/Minnesota School of Business provides thorough training in basic and advanced massage techniques, as well as general education that prepares students to serve diverse clienteles.

AAS in massage therapy program highlights

The massage therapy associate degree* program provides hands-on training in basic massage modalities—Swedish, Thai, hot stone, sports, deep tissue/trigger point, myofascial release—and more advanced techniques—craniosacral therapy and lymphatic drainage. Course topics include kinesiology, anatomy, physiology, massage for pregnancy and special populations, business communications, and the business side of massage. Program highlights include the following:

  • Students get real-world experience practicing techniques on clients in on-campus student massage clinics, in externships and at community events.
  • Massage labs are fully equipped with professional supplies—tables, lotions, oils.
  • Technical training is complemented by general education courses.
  • The program can be completed in 18 months of full-time study.
  • Small class sizes ensure individual attention from instructors.
  • Instructors have professional experience as massage therapists.
  • Coursework includes preparation for massage therapy certifications and licensing exams including Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx), National Certification Examination for Therapeutic and Bodywork (NCETMB) and National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage (NCETM).
