Coursework can be completed online or on campus

Minnesota School of Business offers our health fitness specialist programs online and at some of our college campuses. Whether they learn in on-campus classes or through our Internet classroom, students will enjoy small class sizes, one-on-one instruction and a wealth of resources.

Exercise science – emphasizing science

Man and Woman Working outIt is the responsibility of an exercise trainer or wellness coach to evaluate a client’s present condition, design a program to help the client achieve realistic goals, educate the client and provide support throughout the program’s course. Our graduates have completed rigorous allied health college programs, and employers verify that they are ready to meet those challenges effectively.

In addition to courses in fitness assessment and exercise prescription, we provide MAT (Muscle Activation TechniquesTM  Jumpstart training, in which our students learn skills to treat biomechanical imbalances prior to prescribing exercise. MAT Jumpstart skills help to decrease the risk of reinforcing strength imbalances. MAT Jumpstart is a rigorous certification within the Health Fitness Specialist bachelor's degree program, and we provide hybrid instruction and small classes to help students succeed.

Small business ownership and business management

Is it your goal to manage or own a gym or fitness center? We are committed to positioning our graduates for advancement in their fields. Health fitness specialist programs at our college include courses in business communications, business management and computer information systems. We will make sure you have the skills to take advantage of professional opportunities as they arise.

Our Health Fitness Advisory Board

Globe University/Minnesota School of Business health-fitness-specialist college programs were developed in conjunction with our Health Fitness Advisory Board, a group composed of professionals in the fields of wellness, fitness and exercise training; including GU/MSB alumni. The board regularly reviews the health fitness programs to ensure that our graduates are top candidates for employment opportunities.
