Exercise science – emphasizing science
It is the responsibility of an exercise trainer or wellness coach to evaluate a client’s present condition, design a program to help the client achieve realistic goals, educate the client and provide support throughout the program’s course. Our graduates are ready for those challenges. Employers tell us our graduates are well prepared for those responsibilities.
In addition to courses in sports training methods, our students study MAT (Muscle Activation TechniquesTM) for pain-free exercise, anatomy, biomechanics, nutrition, exercise physiology, sports psychology and physiology. This is a rigorous program, and we provide the one-on-one tutoring and small classes a student needs to succeed.
Small business ownership and business management
Is it your goal to manage or own a gym or fitness center? We are committed to positioning our graduates for advancement in their fields. Health fitness specialist programs at our college include courses in business communications, business management and computer information systems. We will make sure you have the skills to take advantage of professional opportunities as they arise.

Globe University/Minnesota School of Business health-fitness-specialist college programs were developed by our Health Fitness Advisory Board, a group composed of professionals in the fields of wellness, fitness and exercise training; including GU/MSB alumni and faculty. The board regularly reviews the health fitness programs to see that our graduates are top candidates for employment opportunities.

Programs leading to the bachelor’s and associate degrees in health fitness specialist are offered at campuses in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul area: Woodbury, Shakopee, and Plymouth), as well as in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The Health Fitness Diploma program is offered at the Woodbury, MN, campus.
