Online Health Care Management Degree Program

The Globe University/Minnesota School of Business online Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management degree program provides students with maximum flexibility — without sacrificing the academic rigor and close student-instructor relationships experienced in the on-campus program.

Students who enroll in the online Health Care Management degree program include busy professionals, active-duty military personnel and those who have irregular schedules. Others choose online college programs because of concerns over childcare or transportation, and some students combine on-campus and online courses. What challenges does college present for you? How can we help? Contact us and let us know.

Academic, technical and social support for online students

When we took the Bachelor’s in Health Care Management program online, we paid careful attention to special needs of the distance-learning college student. From the time you inquire about the program, in the months until you graduate, and throughout the course of your career in health-care management, you will receive the support you need to succeed:

  • Classes are small— your instructors will have time to work with you on a personal basis.
  • You will use Blackboard, a system designed specifically to facilitate the use of the Internet as a classroom. Download lectures and assignments at your convenience; communicate with your instructors and fellow students using message boards, e-mail and instant messaging.
  • You will have access to the Globe University/Minnesota School of Business online library and other Internet resources specifically designed for your program.
  • You will receive orientation, advising and technical support services dedicated to online learners.

Core components of the health care management degree program

On-campus and online, the health care management program emphasizes mentoring by integrated health system professionals, the development of communication and management skills and the active practice of health care management principles.

Early in the program you will have the opportunity to meet members of the Health Care Management Advisory Board, and throughout the course of your studies will have invaluable opportunities for mentoring and professional networking with those and other healthcare industry professionals and policymakers.

From your first assignment through your last, you will be challenged to present well-researched, compelling arguments, in preparation for a career as a leader in the field. Your studies will include courses in general business, accounting and computer skills; historical, social and political aspects of healthcare delivery systems; and current medical issues, hospital procedures, US health systems and health management; and develop a meaningful context for the analysis of health care systems through studies in communications, social sciences, natural science, mathematics and humanities.

In the capstone course, you will practice and demonstrate the skills you developed in the course of your studies. Subject to approval, you may accomplish that through an externship, business plan, project management plan or major paper.

When you graduate, you can look forward to a rewarding career. The following four employment sectors employ a large proportion of health care managers and medical administrators:
