Public Health, Hospital Administration & Other Health Care Management Careers

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that medical and health service management positions will grow faster than average in the coming years.* Employers include policy making organizations, providers (including hospitals and clinics), public and private insurers and suppliers. As health-care organizations struggle to keep pace with change in a dynamic industry, and to comply with a growing body of regulations, it becomes more important that new and advancing administrators and managers have industry-specific training.

Public, private, nonprofit and government organizations charged with the design and administration of health-care delivery models employ professional managers for a variety of positions, including lobbyist, program administrator, project manager, policy consultant, public relations manager and research analyst.

Hospitals and medical, dental and chiropractic clinics are just a few of the provider organizations that employ professional managers and administrators. Departments including human resources, finance and legal welcome applicants with specific training for this complex field.
