Professional media organizations recognize the need for employees with broad multimedia and business skills. The typical media training program, however, concentrates on technical training in a single area.
At Globe University/Minnesota School of Business, we offer the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Media Business as a route for the student who wants to build on a technical degree and prepare for a broader role in the multimedia industry. A student's perspective
"When GU/MSB/IPR offered this program, I was thrilled that I could get my bachelor’s degree in less than two years AND take everything ONLINE, which allows me to work full-time! The Media Business degree is so broad and covers marketing, advertising, promotions, Internet marketing, leadership and management, sales and entrepreneurial aspects of the media industry. When I graduate, I feel I will qualify for work in MANY different areas of the business world."

A “2 + 2” Degree: Associate in Media + Bachelor’s in Media Business
This is a “2 + 2” program. A wide range of associate degrees in multimedia fields satisfy the first two years of program requirements. The student then completes upper division coursework in three areas: business, media-focused topics and general education. Media business is offered as an online degree program and at several campus locations
Create a bachelor of science degree by combining an AAS degree with Media Business 2 + 2. Examples:
- Music Business + Media Business = Bachelor's degree
- Digital Video and Media Production + Media Business = Bachelor's degree
- Interactive Video + Graphic Design + Media Business = Bachelor's degree
- Video Game Development + Media Business = Bachelor's degree
