A focus on tax accounting and business consulting

At Globe University/Minnesota School of Business, we never lose sight of our primary goal — providing students with skills that translate into jobs. There are great opportunities for accounting professionals with the broad skills needed to serve individuals and small businesses. Whether you plan on operating your own home-based business and tax consulting service, working for an accounting firm or working in a company's general accounting department, you will have the right training and certifications when you graduate from the Accounting and Tax Specialist degree program, and will be prepared for those opportunities and responsibilities.

Beyond the associate in accounting

Our Accounting and Tax Specialist program includes four accounting classes (16 credits) beyond those required for the management accounting program. Tax I, Tax II, Business Law and an ACAT Review cover specific knowledge and skills for the tax accountant and small business consultant..

Preparation for the ABA and RAP certification exams

Are you interested in enhancing your associate in accounting degree with valuable accounting certifications? The Accounting and Tax Specialist program will prepare you to take exams and get the workplace experience necessary for a number of certifications, including the following:

  • Accredited Business Accountant/Advisor (ABA)
  • Registered Accounting Practitioner (RAP)
  • Enrolled Agent (EA)

Building on your Associate in Accounting degree

Many of our graduates, in addition to accounting certification training, return to earn bachelor’s degrees in accounting or business. If you are already working in the field and are considering an additional degree program to prepare for advancement in your field, you may be able to earn college credit for work experience.
