This is an introduction to professional selling methods and issues relating to managing a sales force. Topics include steps of the selling process, consumer psychology, time and territory management, motivation and compensation and sales forecasting. Students develop selling skills through role-play, case study analysis and product presentations and apply management skills by analyzing sales presentations.

This introduction to marketing provides an in-depth study of market research and social influences of marketing on consumers and businesses. The class focuses on the four "P"s of marketing (product, price, place, and promotion), and how they relate to the total marketing concept. Students study the process of identifying customer needs, developing and pricing products and developing a marketing plan.

MK200 Advertising/Promotion (3 Credits)
This course introduces advertising and promotion management, emphasizing the role of advertising and promotion in an organization's marketing and communications. Topics include regulatory, social and economic aspects of advertising.

MK210 Consumer Behavior (4 Credits)
Students explore how, why, when, and how often people buy, acquire, and use products, integrating general knowledge of marketing with formal studies on consumer behavior. Topics include the buyer's decision-making process, similarities and differences of demographic groups, attitude development, adoption and resistance. Students explore consumer behavior theory from a managerial perspective and relate it to careers in marketing and business management.
MK220 Sales Management (3 Credits)
The course covers responsibilities and strategies associated with managing a sales force, focusing on creating entrepreneurial strategies for sales force management. Students learn leadership and management techniques that enhance the success of individual salespeople and of organizations.

MK310 Marketing Strategy (4 Credits)
This course explores the process of decision making in marketing, including strategy development, elements of competition and decision analysis tools. Students use SWOT analysis to formulate marketing strategies.
