Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Eau Claire is a city of 63,000, home to a diverse population and several colleges and universities. The seat of Eau Claire County in northwest Wisconsin, the city was founded as a logging center and takes its name (Eau Claire is French for “clear water”) from the river traveled by early fur traders and trappers.  Another major Wisconsin river, the Chippewa, flows through the center of the city.  Together these rivers, along with the many lakes in the region, provide recreational opportunities to residents and visitors alike.
