The Minnesota School of Business – Plymouth Campus Business & Accounting Programs recently hosted a networking seminar for students, faculty and staff. With so many students approaching their graduation date, this provided the ideal opportunity to perfect the networking skills that are so critical to sustained success in their chosen careers. The Plymouth Campus students cherished the opportunity to meet their peers from other campuses as well as become familiar with staff that they do not necessarily interact with on a daily basis.
The event featured two very dynamic speakers.
Kellie Kamrowski, Recruiting Manager from the workshop’s sponsor Robert Half, gave an enthusiastic and entertaining presentation on proper business & networking etiquette. She also provided great insights into her company, Robert Half and the benefits of establishing a relationship with such a reputable entity. We were honored to host such an amazingly knowledgeable person, from an amazingly successful company and for them to take a special interest into the success of our campus.
JoAnne Funch, LinkedIn Trainer & Strategist, captivated the audience with much needed advice on establishing a social networking presence with LinkedIn. She provided many subtle and clever tips that have a profound impact on creating a resourceful working network. Business student LoughRee DeWitte said, “Having the opportunity to learn from someone like JoAnne Funch was incredible. I appreciate her sharing her knowledge of LinkedIn because she sees first-hand how much it can really help in a job search and important it is to sell yourself in a unique way”.
The networking seminar was an opportunity to gain valuable insights from professional industry experts that will serve all involved for many years to come. The Business & Accounting Programs will continue offer many such valuable opportunities throughout the year.
