When was the last time you came into the career services office? If it was during your admissions tour, now is the time to come back! Over the next several months, we will be offering a series of blogs about careers services team members, services and tips you might be interested in.
We have a new(er) member of the career services team to introduce to you … Director of Career Services Julie Kresh.
Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I’ve been working for Minnesota School of Business-Blaine for about six years; initially, in a position that blossomed into the service learning coordinator role, then as the community manager, and now as the director of career services. Additionally, I am a licensed professional school counselor, with an educational background in counseling psychology.
What is something we might not know about you?
I think it’s super fun to organize things around my house in my free time … files, clothing, food in my pantry, anything! I also love to be involved in organizational efforts in my community … I lead my high school reunion committee, I organize fundraising for my kids’ school, and I work extensively with the local chamber of commerce!
What is your favorite quote, song or poem?
I really like this one from Langston Hughes:
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore-
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over-
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
