Meg Stephenson, Campus Director at Minnesota School of Business-Elk River

wanted to put her master’s degree in human resource development to work. When she learned of the campus director position, she was excited for an opportunity to bring her skills to a new arena.

She and her husband, Jim, have been married for 30 years. They have two kids, Jack (27) and Sierra (24).  Jack, who graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, is a behavioral counselor in Duluth at a correctional facility and also coaches downhill skiing at Duluth East High School as well as fifth grade football. Sierra is an artist who graduated from the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul and recently moved to Arizona. She also coaches gymnastics and circus.

When asked about hobbies, Meg shared that she and her family have a cabin on a small lake in northern Wisconsin that they love to go to as much as possible. She is also excited about a new business that she and her husband recently started called Yellow Cottage Books, which is named after her family’s cottage in northern Michigan.

In addition, Meg, Jim and Sierra published a gymnastics coloring book recently, and she and Jim are writing and illustrating another children’s book which she hopes will be done soon. They both grew up loving the outdoors and enjoy taking outdoor walks when the weather is nice.

They currently have a cat named Riley and hope to get a dog soon. They have had two Bouviers (Royal Belgian Guard Dog) previously and would like to get another one.

Meg is very excited to dive into her new role. She is very appreciative of the warm welcome that she has already received from the staff, faculty and students, and looks forward to working with everyone.

Plan to stop by and visit her and pick up a snack in the student commons on Wednesday, January 14 from 10:30-11:00 a.m. or 5:00-6:00 p.m. You can also contact Meg at: 763-367-7002 or
