Minnesota School of Business-Richfield (MSB) is both proud and excited to officially announce the winner of the internet marketing program’s inaugural Content Marketing World Conference Essay Competition for 2014. And the winner is (drumroll, please) … Sara Boothe!
Sara is attending MSB to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with an emphasis on salon and spa management. Her dream job would be to work as product line representative (preferably for a salon brand) in order to help salons and stylists offer the best products possible.
The essay competition was open to students in the internet marketing, business, interactive media and graphic design, and digital video programs of MSB-Richfield and Globe University-Woodbury for the chance to win an all-expense-paid trip to this year’s event in Cleveland, Ohio. The conference takes place September 8-11 and features keynote presenter Kevin Spacey. Students were required to submit an 800-1,000 word essay explaining why they want to attend, what they hope to accomplish, how they envision applying this experience professionally, and why they deserve to win.
Sara’s winning essay focused on all the changes the internet has brought since her return to college after having previously graduated from beauty school when marketing oneself simply was not taught.
Sara will be serving as a conference volunteer assistant for two full days of breakout sessions in exchange for the conference fees and meals. Airfare and hotel will be covered by the MSB-Richfield and Globe-Woodbury campuses.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Sara to not only meet, but closely interact with, the top influencers and thought leaders in the industry,” said Richard Grossman, internet marketing program chair. “She should emerge from this experience with her confidence sky high, inspired to apply all she learns about navigating the digital space and engaging audiences with compelling stories and content,” he added.
“I am excited to attend this conference, to finally learn how to really take advantage of all the social media and marketing avenues available now, and perhaps have the chance to properly market myself as I pursue my dream job,” Sara said. “Plus, seeing Kevin Spacey speak ain’t too shabby either!”
Congratulations to Sara, and have fun at the conference! We know you will represent MSB/Globe, the internet marketing program and yourself with grace and professionalism. We can’t wait to hear about your trip when you return!
