The Minnesota School of Business-Lakeville campus recently welcomed 20 students from Lakeville North High School to explore careers in business and criminal justice. The students attended breakout sessions related to professional communications in the workplace, marketing and criminal justice.
The guests listened to a current student, Heath Glassburn, discuss his externship with Dakota County, and the variety of career options that exist with a degree in criminal justice.
Minnie Wagner, business program chair, used her student session to teach the students about supply and demand with a fun exercise where the students had an opportunity to “sell” their goods of Legos, candy and flowers to their classmate consumers.
Students also attended a session with Matt Steihm, criminal justice program chair, who talked with students about their impressions of the criminal justice field and the different job opportunities within it.
The high school students had a great experience! Jennifer Johnson, a business instructor from Lakeville North High School, stated that, “students love the opportunity to learn from professionals with real world experience.”
