MSB Helps 8th Graders Understand Importance of Choosing the Right College

Posted by on December 9, 2013

Minnesota School of Business (MSB) in Blaine hosted 19 eighth-grade students from Sunrise Park Middle School in White Bear Lake to assist in their goal of learning about college opportunities. The students, accompanied by their teacher, toured the campus, learned about scholarship opportunities, watched a video about choosing the right college, and were able to ask questions.

“It’s important for eighth-grade students to begin looking at colleges so that they can plan their high school careers accordingly,” Katie Seifert, high school admissions representative at MSB-Blaine, said. “If an eighth-grader is more aware of what is needed in college, they will be more deliberate in what courses they take and what extracurricular activities they partake in during their high school career. It will help them to be best prepared for the road ahead.”

Seifert adds, “A career college like MSB is a great choice for students who know what career they want after graduation and are career-focused, meaning the students’ goals are to complete their education as quickly as possible in order to enter the workforce in a way that is meaningful and constructive to them.”
