Minnesota School of Business-Blaine (MSB) students and alumni had the chance to connect with 20 employers during a career fair on campus on Oct. 23. Events like this are just one way we help students and graduates find jobs in their career fields.
With resumes in hand, career fair attendees networked with the employers, learned about their companies and what it’s like to work there, and discovered career options for applying their skills and knowledge. The following companies participated:
- ACR Homes, Inc.
- Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Service
- American Security & Investigations
- BioLife Plasma Services
- Choice Insurance
- City of Blaine
- Hennepin County
- Key Medical
- Life By Design
- Massage Retreat & Spa
- Masterson Staffing Solutions
- Premier Disability
- TLC Metro
MSB-Blaine hosts one career fair on campus each fall and it’s important for students to take advantage of the opportunity. According to CareerBuilder.com, to get the most out of a career fair experience, you should arrive with a positive attitude, bring at least 20 copies of your resume, do research on companies that will be represented prior to attending, ask for a business card in case you meet someone you want to follow up with, talk to every company because you never know what they may be hiring for, plan to ask questions, and wear proper business attire because first impressions count.
“It was a fun event and so great to see graduates attending the event to showcase their skills to the employers. We connect with graduates via phone and e-mail often, but don’t always get to see them in person throughout their job search,” Jessie Karnis, Career Services Assistant, said about the event.
