Student Appreciation: Hot Off the Grill

Posted by on August 30, 2013

The sense of dedication that students at the Shakopee campus of Minnesota School of Business have is truly tremendous. In addition to being enthusiastic in their classes and passionate about their field of study, our students also create such a sense of community on our campus by engaging with fellow students, faculty and staff.

The 90-degree temperature and 70-degree dew point on August 28 couldn’t keep the staff from grilling hamburgers and hot dogs to serve our students lunch and dinner. For our summer quarter student appreciation event, the student commons was transformed into a summer picnic scene, complete with ice cream treats and potato chips.

Our student appreciation events are put in place to honor our students and celebrate their success. Below are just a few reasons the MSB-Shakopee staff and facultyappreciate our students.

“I appreciate the way our students all seem to get along with each other. The tight-knit community really gives the Shakopee campus a ‘small town’ feeling.”  Vikki Clayton, Academic Coordinator

“What I appreciate most about our students is their individuality and uniqueness. I enjoy learning about their unique backgrounds, interests and goals.” Lexi Gorshe, Admissions Representative

“With the busy schedules that most of our students have with class, work and families, I appreciate how they are always friendly and willing to pause for a moment to say hello or ask how you are,”
Justin Simonson, Community Manager

Tom Kosel, Director of Government Relations, joins student Francisco Moran for lunch.

“I appreciate the good attitude expressed by students, particularly during late evening classes. Even after they have already put in a long work day, they remain enthused and energetic about learning.” Rebecca Llyod, Instructor

We are thankful for our students at MSB-Shakopee and look forward to our next student appreciation event scheduled for fall 2013!
