The Minnesota School of Business-St. Cloud spring graduating class accepted their degrees amongst applause and a sense of optimism on June 14, 2013 at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud.

Despite a potentially challenging job market, the graduates wrapped up their college careers with confidence and gratitude in tow—and for some, with employment already in hand!

Christine Legatt celebrated the news of her new position as an accounting clerk at St. Cloud Industrial Products the same night as her graduation.

“It’s a perfect position and company fit for me,” she said.  “I couldn’t be more excited, and I start on Monday so there won’t be any gap between graduating and starting my accounting career!”

Executive Director of the Central Minnesota Boys and Girls Club and keynote speaker for the event, Mark Sakry, shared in the graduates’ collective enthusiasm.

Quoting from Rod Stewart lyrics, Sakry urged the graduates to be true to their dreams.

“Never give up,” he said. “Life is often filled with roadblocks and setbacks, especially in the work world, but those who remain optimistic and courageous will ultimately find a great job, great joy and a sense of purpose in life.”

Together the spring graduating class of 2013 walked toward their aspirations—and a bit of cake and punch to celebrate!
