“Innovation: It’s only new to some.” –Dr. Ray Bender
On Thursday, March 21, the Minneapolis Convention Center was buzzing with some of the area’s most elite IT professionals for TechFuse 2013. Also in attendance at this premier IT conference was the Minnesota School of Business and several of their current IT students and staff.
The students and staff were treated to an early breakfast that broke into individual seminar sessions with guest speakers from around the country. Sessions covered a wide variety of topics that included:
- System Centers
- SQL/Business Intelligence
- Professional Development
But the fun didn’t stop there! Conference attendees were also treated to lunch and a special talk from the keynote speaker of the day, Dr. Ray Bender. Dr. Bender spoke to the issues that can arise when innovation is introduced within the business world. He also spoke about the importance of creating a strong supportive culture that will help cultivate innovation, rather than simply adhering to current operating procedures.
As the day winded down, the IT conference goers once again broke out into their individual seminars, and a few lucky attendees were awarded with some pretty spectacular vendor prizes. Prizes that were awarded included everything from a Kindle Fire HD tablet from the Minnesota School of Business to an Xbox 360 with Kinect from the Microsoft vendor.
As a student of the Minnesota School of Business, having an opportunity to attend exclusive conferences and events such as TechFuse is a great way to get your foot in the door and network with other like-minded professionals!
