Globe University/Minnesota School of Business demonstrated their philosophy of ‘We Care’ by partnering with Make-A-Wish® Minnesota to grant the wish of a local 6th Grader. Sabrina’s wish was to write and record her own songs. Make-A-Wish® Minnesota contacted Globe to help Sabrina realize her wish.
Network school Institute of Production and Recording (IPR) donated the time and talents of engineer Kevin Bowe, Grammy award-winning producer Steve Hodge and full use of IPR studios to record Sabrina’s songs. IPR students were involved with the recording of Sabrina’s songs as a class project. Students developed their professional skills while also making a difference. The result is a CD of songs written from Sabrina’s heart. Share her experience in this short video.
Local media joined in the culmination of Sabrina’s wish on Sunday, January 20 at a CD release party with family and friends. Sabrina performed her songs live and autographed CD’s for all to take home.
Make-A-Wish® Minnesota grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. “We are grateful for the partnership with Make-A-Wish® Minnesota and the opportunity it brings to our students and staff to work with projects that not only touch the lives of amazing children, but leave a lasting impact for all involved as well.” Mindy Shannon, Director of Charitable Giving at Globe University.
