Supporting Youth Frontiers’ Battle Against Bullying

We Care” is our philosophy at the Globe University/Minnesota School of Business network of schools.  We strive to make a positive impact in our communities by caring about our students, our employees and our community partners.  We use service and applied learning in our classrooms to enhance students’ education and to give back to our communities.

One of our community partners is Youth Frontiers.  Youth Frontiers seeks to help develop character in students by providing retreats and support materials for schools.

CEO Joe Cavanaugh founded Youth Frontiers in 1987 to answer a plea from a 10th grader in Montana.  The student asked, “There are these kids at school who make fun of me every day. Can you do anything to stop them?”

Youth Frontiers is a nonprofit organization built on the idea of fostering safe, positive school communities where students and educators can thrive emotionally, socially and, therefore, academically. Their vision is to change the way kids treat each other. Youth Frontiers is passionate about eliminating bullying. The organization has served more than one million students across the country since its beginning.

The Globe University/Minnesota School of Business network of schools supports Youth Frontiers by sponsoring retreats at area schools.  Over a six year period, 61 retreats have been sponsored for more than 7,500 students in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The ten sponsored retreats for this year for high school juniors and seniors were recently announced.  Forty applications were narrowed to the top ten:
