For two days in early December, the student commons area at Minnesota School of Business-Shakopee was transformed into a Winter Wonderland. Students, faculty and staff were treated to a winter carnival, courtesy of DECA and SCNAVTA.
DECA is an organization for business students that “prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.”
SCNAVTA is the student chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America. The mission of NAVTA is to”represent and promote the profession of veterinary technology. NAVTA provides direction, education, support and coordination for its members and works with other allied professional organizations for the competent care and humane treatment of animals.”
Both student groups supplied subs and home baked goodies. Students, staff and faculty had the opportunity to play “snowball fight” where players tried to get foam “snowballs” into the target, ring toss, and winter/holiday themed trivia to win tickets which could be turned in for a prize.
Highlights included Admission Representative Brad Stanke challenging several students to the snowball fight. The admissions team developed and practiced several new techniques for the ring toss. Competition heated up and there may have even been lunch owed to the winner.
