This quarter, in honor of Veterans Day, Minnesota School of Business-Shakopee centered its student appreciation event on military students and families. In a red, white, and blue themed dinner, students dined on soup, salad and breadsticks.
The garden salad was catered by Davanni’s and the soup and breadsticks were supplied by Olive Garden. Students had their choice of soup: Zuppa Toscana (sausage, onion, potatoes, and swiss chard in a creamy broth) or Minestrone (fresh vegetables, beans, and pasta in a light tomato broth). Students enjoyed ice cream sundaes for dessert.
The Student Commons was converted into the Shakopee Commons Café to set the mood. Tables were covered in white linen, and candles lit up the room. Relaxing classical music played in the background as students ordered their food off of printed menus.
As with previous Student Appreciation dinners, a well-dressed John Skoy acted as host for the event and courteously seated students.
However, the always excited George Teagarden joined him this time in welcoming students to the Café. Numerous other staff and faculty acted as servers for the event and brought food and beverages to the tables, while others helped in dishing up the salad and soup.
All in all, it was a wonderful event to honor the sacrifices made by our veterans, active-duty soldiers, and military families, and it definitely demonstrated that indeed We Care about our students at Minnesota School of Business-Shakopee.
