The Minnesota School of Business-Plymouth celebrated its 39th graduating class on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the 2012 early fall graduation ceremony, held at the Marriott-Minneapolis West in St. Louis Park, Minn.

Twenty-four graduates earned degrees, with a total of 18 walking the stage at the commencement ceremony.

Globe Education Network Provost Dave Metzen served as the keynote speaker, delivering a powerful message of well-wishes, teamwork, adaptation, overcoming adversity and giving back to the community.

“Employers are also looking for students and people that are coming out of school that have had some challenges. They are looking for people that have perseverance. Life is not so much where we’ve been that counts; it’s what we’ve learned from where we’ve been. That is what makes us go forward,” Metzen said.

Massage therapygraduate Nicole Richard talked about how she came to school because of a former teacher, and how she pushed through, despite almost giving up.

“As I moved through the program, I found out that it wasn’t just the one teacher that I loved. I found out that the teachers, faculty and classmates I had we’re so wonderful,” Richard said.

Megan Coleman, a medical assistant graduate, talked about how she chose the field and about her new job.

“When I finished my internship, I found a job right away and I love every minute of it,” Coleman said.

Veterinary technician graduate Alana Peterson rounded out the student speakers with a rousing speech centered on not putting off your future, and getting rid of your “snooze button” in life.

“Will you hit the snooze button or will you go out and live up to your own standards?” Peterson said, challenging the graduates.
