Minnesota School of Business-St. Cloud recently hosted the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce on campus. 155 members of the weekly Chamber Connection arrived for an early morning breakfast and networking session. MSB Massage Therapy alumni, Judy Goering and Katrina Salo–both currently employed in the community–gave complimentary massages during the event.

Judy Goering lends a healing hand to a Chamber member.

“We like to host Chamber,” says Campus Director, Jim Beck, (and Chamber Board Member,) “because it enables us to showcase our students and everything they have to offer to the community. We can show everything we do outside the traditional education model, including applied learning and community service.”

Chamber members react to presentation.

Chamber members also shared testimonials about their partnership experiences with Minnesota School of Business. Jenny Zimmer, Volunteer Coordinator for Good Shepherd Community commented that their experience is “above and beyond” whenever MSB is involved at their senior living campuses. Jason Krueger, the general manager at Closet Logic, lauded his participation on the Program Advisory Committee; Tad Schoeppner of Doherty Staffing explained the value of MSB Job Fairs; Jennifer Odette of Brandl Motors talked about the high quality of interns from the college; and Bethanie Schubert and Connie Trobec spoke on the advantages of a Business Alliance Partnership with MSB.

Director of Career Services, Shannon Templin, agrees that inviting Chamber to the MSB campus is always a worthwhile endeavor. “[It] is the best method to showcase our students and graduates. Establishing solid networking contacts is our top priority and hosting the Chamber Connection helps us achieve that goal.  Employers need to be constantly reminded of the talent and experience our students bring to the marketplace.”

The Chamber Connection is open to all St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce members and meets weekly on Friday mornings from 7:30 – 9 a.m. at various business locations. It includes introductions, breakfast, presentations and networking opportunities and announcements.
