MSB-Moorhead Staff Celebrates ‘Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Day’ With Governor Dayton in Detroit Lakes

Several staff members from Minnesota School of Business-Moorhead celebrated ‘Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Day’ with Governor Mark Dayton, Congressman Collin Peterson, and other special dignitaries in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Eight new communities were proclaimed Yellow Ribbon Networks at the event. It the included cities of Detroit Lakes, Moorhead, Fergus Falls, Thief River Falls, Bemidji, Alexandria, Long Prairie, and Wadena. Financial Aid Director Lisa Roesch is the current Treasurer of the Moorhead ‘Beyond the Yellow Ribbon’ steering committee, which was formed just over a year ago. Campus Director Erik Engberg also serves on the committee as well.

“The fact we are a yellow ribbon campus that now resides in a yellow ribbon community is really great,” Engberg said. “A lot of people in the community have worked hard to make this happen.”

The Moorhead Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committee with Moorhead Mayor Mark Voxland, Congressman Collin Peterson, and Governor Mark Dayton.

Roesch was on stage to help accept the proclamation from the Governor and Congressman Peterson in front of hundred at the Detroit Lakes Pavilion. Roesch has been a big part in the development of the Moorhead Yellow Ribbon Committee.

“It’s an exciting day for the city of Moorhead and for those of us on the steering committee,” Roesch said.

On September 20, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and the Minnesota National Guard proclaimed Globe  University/Minnesota School of Business as a Yellow Ribbon Campus due to its commitment of supporting our country’s military members, their spouses and  dependents through providing quality education.
