Profiled: Faye Uppman – Network Dean of Nursing
Faye Uppman is Globe Education Network Dean of Nursing for the Bachelor of Science in nursing program at Globe University/Minnesota School of Business. Ms. Uppman’s expertise in nursing and nursing education spans over 30 years within public and private institutions. Curriculum and program development has included a state approved HealthCare Core Curriculum as entry level knowledge for health careers, the creation of a pathway program with practical nursing and associate degree registered nursing outcomes, a bachelor of science pre-licensure nursing program and an on-line RN to BSN completion program. Ms. Uppman served as Co-President of the Minnesota Association of Colleges of Nursing (MACN), is a member of the Clinical Coordination Project Advisory Committee, sponsored by HealthForce Minnesota, is a co-researcher in a project focusing on the changing needs of the baccalaureate clinical education environment, and served on the state advisory committee supporting the development of a Minnesota Regional Action Coalition (RAC) centered on the IOM: Future of Nursing Report.
Profiled: Dean Pedersen – Network Dean of Digital Video and Media Production
Dean Pedersen is the Network Dean of the Digital Video and Media Production program for Globe Education Network. He is also the owner and president of Pedersen Productions, Inc., a television production company specializing in network series production. He has an extensive background in television production and has been active in the industry since 1983. His works range from overseas documentaries to food industry features to home improvement and design. Dean is an experienced Director, Producer and Writer creating shows for numerous national cable networks as well as local network affiliates. He has also produced a wide range of television ads and corporate and promotional video campaigns. Some of the networks he has produced for include: Fox, NBC, Food Network, HGTV, TLC, Travel Channel, DIY Network as well as Europe’s Sky and Super Network.
Profiled: Earl Slack – Network Dean of Interactive Media and Graphic Design
Earl Slack has been the Network Associate Dean of the IMGD program since April, 2008. He started teaching Illustration and other graphics classes at the Brooklyn Center campus in 2003. His professional experience includes employment at several graphic design firms and advertising agencies. He has been a freelance artist since 1981, creating work for 3M, Pillsbury, General Mills, Tonka Toys and many other smaller companies. Earl has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, illustration major, from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP), the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), and AIGA, the professional association for design.
