Minnesota School of Business Honored at Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament for Tee Box Theme

The annual Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament was held at Edgewood Golf Course in north Fargo, with almost 250 people participating in the event. The theme for the tournament was ‘Vegas’.

Minnesota School of Business in Moorhead was one of eighteen tee box sponsors for the tournament. Director of Career Services Kurtis Karn, Dean of Faculty Melinda Rustad, and

Community Relations Specialist Brian Shawn decided to go with a ‘CSI: Las Vegas’ theme for its tee box that included crime scene tape, t-shirts, badges, spray bottles, a black light, handcuffs, and even a chalk outline!

At the hole, the campus held a chipping contest into the crime scene, with winners receiving t-shirts, lanyards, coasters, and other prizes.

“We wanted to get creative with our theme,” Karn said. “Everyone really seemed to find it fun and entertaining.”

For all of the efforts, the campus was awared ‘Best Tee Box Theme’ by the Chamber of Commerce. It included recognition at the banquet following the tournament and a plaque.

“We had a lot of creative tee boxes out there, but Minnesota School of Business pretty much ran away with it,” said Darren Dunlop, Chamber Business Development Manager.

Hilton Garden Inn was selected as best dressed team at the event as well.
