Join MSB Blaine to Volunteer with Junior Achievement Biztown

Posted by on July 24, 2012

Minnesota School of Business, Blaine campus is gathering a group of 10 students, staff, and faculty to volunteer with Junior Achievement Biztown on July 31.

Biztown is a 10,000 square foot kid-sized city within the walls of Junior Achievement’s headquarters in Maplewood, MN. The city is designed for students in grades 4-6 to become an “adult for a day” and learn what it takes to go to work, run a business, manage a checking account, and work as a team. The businesses include a wellness center, cafe, stores, bank, post office, newspaper, radio station, and city hall.

Volunteers will guide a small group of students as they work in a business, and help them make important business and personal finance decisions. Volunteers are needed from approximately 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. At the start of the day, Junior Achievement staff will conduct a training/orientation, reviewing the schedule, and the volunteer role.

If you’re interested in volunteering, contact Meghan Hathaway at or 763-225-8051. Students and employees are all welcome to volunteer. We’d love to have you!
