Welcome to Week 1! We hope you were able to stay cool over the break and have some rest and relaxation to get rejuvenated for the Early Fall quarter. We also hope you were able to have a little bit of fun too! As you attend classes this week, please be sure to really take the time to get to know your instructors and fellow classmates. Exchanging email addresses and phone numbers is a great way to stay connected with your classmates and form study groups and keep open lines of communications. Think of your classroom as a community—it’s not just your instructor teaching, it’s you and your classmates working together. When great minds are put together, the class can go anywhere.
If things changed over break and you realize your schedule doesn’t quite work the way you had originally wanted it to, stop by the Education Department and see what your options are. This week is your opportunity to make any last minute schedule changes. Keep in mind as you make changes that you need to stay at 11 credits or above to lock in the lower tuition rate. And if saving money wasn’t enough, being a full-time student will get you done with school faster so you can start working in a field you love sooner!
Last but not least, be sure to contact the Education Department if you had to miss class this week. Classes missed week 1 get removed from your schedule to ensure you are not billed for classes you don’t intend to keep. Contacting Education in the event of an absence will ensure the class is kept on your schedule.
