Mpls.St. Paul Magazine Names MSB Faculty as Finalist for Outstanding Nurse Awards

MSB nursing faculty Sharon Stanke, RN, DNP, has been named by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine as a finalist for its first ever Outstanding Nurses Awards.

Dr. Stanke is an innovative educator who has done ground-breaking work in simulation training for new ICU nurses at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.  The Twin Cities Health Professionals Education Consortium named her as their Educator of the Year.  She also created the “Care of the Critically Ill Patient” nursing course for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at Globe UniversityMinnesota School of Business.

There are 54 finalists that will be honored at the Outstanding Nurses Award banquet at Golden Valley Golf and Country Club on Thursday, July 19.  Then the 20 nurses who win awards will be featured in the August issue of Mpls.St.Paul Magazine.

Mpls.St.Paul Magazine created a blue-ribbon panel of judges, which includes the executive director of the American Nurses Credentialing Center, an associate professor from the School of Nursing at the University of Minnesota, and a nurse representative from the Mayo Clinic, to review all nominations.

Our nursing program congratulates Dr. Stanke on her much-deserved recognition.  We are so proud to have you as part of our faculty team!
