On May 24, 2012, Steve Hirsch Chair of the Accounting Program at MSB, gathered seven local Twin City Accounting professionals, two accounting degreed alumni, one MSB Accounting Adjunct instructor, MSB Accounting Network Dean, MSB Associate Dean of Faculty, and four current accounting students, into a room to discuss the curriculum, job
outlook, and various other topics targeted at improving the MSB accounting program on the Blaine campus. This is an annual event called the Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting.
The event began with dinner and a brief presentation by the Dean of Faculty and the Associate Dean of Faculty. They presented the history of the school and statistics on student make-up of our campus. The entire master syllabi from the accounting curriculum along with the text books were displayed and a tour of the facilities was provided. Hirsch was pleased to present to the group the actions that the school has taken on incorporating prior suggestions from this group. The new bachelor program in Forensic Accounting and new career readiness objections were started fall of 2012 and were ideas that originated from this group. The group presented several new ideas at this meeting that the school will begin to look into for incorporation into the program. As in the past, there was an opportunity for the students to network with the professionals and for the professionals to ask questions of the students.
