The Moorhead ‘Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committee’ honored the Minnesota School of Business and one of its staff members for the campus’ support and planning of the Military Career Fair at the Ramada Plaza & Suites in Fargo. Over 150 people and 30 businesses were present.
Director of Financial Aid, Lisa Roesch played a major role in organizing the event with the campus chipping in $600 to help with food and venue costs. Both Roesch and the MSB were honored for their contributions.
Captain Mike Obach of the 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 136th Infantry presented the awards at a small banquet on campus and spoke highly of the Minnesota School of Business and its efforts to help veterans and service men/women succeed professionally.
“We certainly appreciate everything the campus has done to help support our troops,” Obach said. “These types of efforts really make a difference.”
The Military Career Fair gave current service members and veterans opportunities for face-to-face meetings with businesses in the community that are looking for employees.
There were also a number of workshops available that provided helpful information on resume writing, interviewing skills, and employment trends.
“Hearing Capt. Obach list off everything Lisa was responsible for, and how successful the event was, really hit home how much she contributed to make it happen,” Campus Director Erik Engberg said.
