Accounting Program Chair Speaks on Accounting to High School Students

Posted by on May 30, 2012

Steve Hirsch, Accounting Program Chair at Minnesota School of Business, Blaine campus reached out to local high school accounting teachers, volunteering his assistance and expertise.  He received a reply from Cheryl Boe, the accounting teacher at Chaska High School and recently gave a presentation to their class on accounting careers, and even orally tested the class on their knowledge of the accounting cycle.  Steve also presented the class with a brief Power Point presentation he created that introduced them to some accounting humor.  He concluded the presentation by applauding the students for taking an accounting class as an elective, encouraged them to continue their studies in accounting beyond high school, and described how to demonstrate and use their trial balances and work papers in interviews for any type of job.
