Friday’s gorgeous summer weather sent Elk River community members up North for the weekend or just outside to enjoy the sun’s warmth–they were no where to be found for Minnesota School of Business’s Community Education Day.
“80 degree weather on a Friday afternoon is never a good equation for an indoor event,” said Campus Communications Specialist Kayla Stai.
Even with minimal community participants, the day’s agenda continued as planned so that staff and faculty could enjoy a day of learning new skills.
Staff and faculty enjoyed sessions on social media newbie–Pinterest, self-defense tactics, healthy eating tips, Zumba moves and others.
“Zumbawas a ton of fun,” said Admissions Representative Michelle Champagne. “I’d love
to start a Zumba group on campus.”
This year’s Community Education Day took place instead of the campus’s traditional Community Service Day in order to participate in a nationwide “We Serve” challenge issued by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).
