DECA Students Wrap Up Successful Year at International Career Development Conference

Six DECA students from Minnesota School of Business in Blaine competed in the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 20-25. Listed below are each of the students and the events they competed in.



  • Breanne Nelson: Entrepreneurship
  • Thomas Monson: Marketing Management
  • Josh Nelson: Sports and Entertainment; and Marketing with Jason Bednar
  • Jason Bednar: Sports and Entertainment; and Marketing with Josh Nelson
  • Faamati Winey: Sales Manager Meeting
  • Jennifer Senger: Sales Manager Meeting

The Blaine chapter received many recognitions and awards while at ICDC. Each student received a Certificate of Achievement. The chapter received the Community Service Award and the Presidential Passport Leadership Award. Breanne and Thomas received the Chapter Leadership Award. Breanne, Thomas, Josh, and Jason received the Blue Diamond Passport Leadership Award. And Breanne and Thomas received Awards of Excellence.

While at ICDC, the students participated not only in their competition event, but also different professional academies, fundraiser workshops, and leadership workshops. They attended the Utah Jazz NBA Game, White-Out Event, and awards sessions.
