Capture Minnesota is a book of photos taken by Minnesota photographers featuring Minnesota scenes, both rural and urban. Approximately 96,000 photos were entered and TPT viewers cast in the neighborhood of 4.5 million votes. Just over 200 pictures were chosen to be reproduced in this beautiful book. Among the photos chosen was one by our very own student, Shawn O’Neill. Shawn is an Interactive Media and Graphic Design student at the Elk River campus. He came to our graphic design program because he wanted to learn how to create the best images from his camera and how to promote his photography through the web and print. He has a talented eye for finding the right angle, lighting, and composition through his camera lens.
Here’s how the Capture Minnesota book is described on the website: www.CaptureMinnesota.com.
The best of Minnesota wrapped in a hard-bound, fine-art Capture Book(TM). Flip through the pages and local pride will rise up in your heart and soul. Why? Because the good people of Minnesota shaped the book with their votes. It’s publishing like never before: publishing by vote!
Why 144 pages? Because anything less wouldn’t be enough to show off the great photos of Minnesota submitted by Capture Minnesota photographers. These pages are acid-free, high-quality and thick, too, so the photos simply pop off the page!
That’s right: 200+ photos of Minnesota, hand-picked by your voting and our editors, and laid out beautifully by a team of book artists who’ve been doing book design for years!
Shawn shot this photo at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in Walnut Grove, MN. Congratulations, Shawn, on being included in this beautiful book.
