The MSB Lakeville DECA Team is getting ready to take off on Saturday. They are headed to Salt Lake City, Utah for the International Career Development Conference 2012. This is the national competition for DECA.

Craig Wilson, the DECA advisor and Accounting Program Chair, informed the campus that they will be recieving the Community Service Award at the conference. This award is given out to the teams with the highest committment to working with the community.

Darren Thomas, DECA student, critquing a role play for the Rosemount high school DECA team.

The Lakeville team assisted with the high school DECA teams from surrounding area schools including Lakeville, Rosemount, and Burnsville. They assisted in judging presentations and giving valuable feedback to those students. In an actual DECA competition, the judges do not give feedback to the participants.

They have worked extremely hard to get where they are now and we are proud of them. Good luck at the 2012 ICDC in Salt Lake City, Utah. Let your travels be safe and your awards be plentiful.
