The Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee has partnered with Beyond the Yellow Ribbon of Moorhead to offer a veteran and service member career fair on Sunday, April 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Crystal Ballroom at the Ramada Plaza Suites and Conference Center. There is NO CHARGE for your business to set up a table and have access to hundreds of well-trained, dedicated potential employees. The goal is simple. Provide an opportunity for the men and women who have served, or are currently serving in the military an opportunity to meet with the best employers in town.
The event will begin with a round-table discussion led by local Human Resources specialists. This panel will take questions and share insights on hiring practices, resumes, and interview tips and techniques. Following the panel discussion will be breakout sessions to assist service members in their job hunt. Scheduled sessions will address: resume writing, interviewing, job service options, and career/life planning.
Service members make great employees
Veterans attendees will be encouraged to participate in the scheduled sessions; however, networking with prospective employers is the focus of this event. Although part of the instruction will be on how to better their resumes and achieve a more relevant and polished product, veterans will be instructed to bring resumes for distribution.
The Minnesota School of Business is a proud sponsor of the event, spearheaded by Financial Aid Director Lisa Roesch. Roesch serves as Treasurer of the ‘Beyond The Yellow Ribbon Committee’ in Moorhead.
