Minnesota School of Business’s Corrections class students will be calculating the cost of state inmate health care. The project consists of actual numbers for 2011, which exceeded $7.1 million! The students are evaluating the cost of the aging inmate, the mentally and physically ill, and treatment costs for chemically dependent inmates. Toward the end of the spring quarter, the students will be discussing ideas to decrease or maintain the expenses related to inmate health care. This research project will last throughout the quarter, and each week the Criminal Justice display (next to room 201) will be updated.
