Plainview-Elgin-Millville High School Career Assembly on April 4th, 2012
MSB-Rochester was honored to participate in Plainview-Elgin-Millville’s (PEM’s) student Career Assembly yesterday. Rod Wright, program chair for Information Technology, (pictured right), along with Megan Krenzer, Paralegal program chair (pictured below), spoke with students about what to expect when pursuing their respective fields.
Angie Helm, director of admissions, said, “We have participated in career fairs hosted at (PEM) in the past, which included career-specific class speakers during the school year, and now we have provided our Program chairs to speak on individual career fields. We have been thoroughly impressed with PEM’s focus and training for their students and ‘life after high school.'”
Angie Helm went on to say, “PEM does an awesome job at introducing their students to a wide variety of career-specific coursework. As I have met with their students as they investigate college options, this is illustrated in those students having a better knowledge of what they might want to pursue in college and for their careers.”
Megan Krenzer notes, “It is exciting to see how ambitious the high school students are to start their professional career. Some students want to be legal assistants, others are already enrolled in a college paralegal program for this Fall, and four students want to be lawyers. It felt rewarding to share my experiences and also provide advice on how to enter the legal field.”
