Dawn Espe, Dean of Students at the Brooklyn Center campus, will say her goodbyes on Friday, March 23, as she ventures off down a new path.
Dawn began her career with GEN 6 ½ years ago at the St. Cloud campus in Student Services. She made her way down to the Brooklyn Center campus in 2007 transitioning into the role of Associate Director of Career Services. In 2008, she took on the role as the Associate Dean, and then one year later in 2009, she became the Dean of Students. Throughout Dawn’s time at Brooklyn Center, she also taught sections of Student Success and Career Development.
Dawn enjoyed many parts of her day-to-day job. What she will miss the most are the student appreciation events, the free massages on campus, the relationships that were made, and the new skills she learned along the way. One of those learned skills was public speaking, which she is now afraid of losing because she believes that it is a “use it or lose it” skill. Dawn will also miss the people that she encountered every day.
Dawn’s new adventure will begin in April as she is starting a daycare in her home. This will allow her to spend more time with her son Oliver. Dawn has also started a meal service where she will prepare personalized meal plans for her clients.
Everyone at the Brooklyn Center campus will miss Dawn a great deal, and we wish her the best of luck in her new adventures!
