Top Free Medical Assisting Phone Applications

Many students have smart phones to assist them with their busy lives and staying connected. There are many applications available on the market, many of them are free.

Some of these applications can help students succeed in the classroom. Lindsay is our Medical Assisting program chair at Minnesota School of Business in Lakeville. Here are Lindsay’s Top Free Medical Assisting Applications:

Medical Encyclopedia by University of Maryland Medical System.

This is a medical reference application from one of the oldest academic medical center. It contains information about symptoms, injuries, disease, surgery, nutrition, and much more. It also contains a search feature that allows the user to find information they are looking for with ease.



Epocrates by Epocrates

This application offers quick access to reliable drug, disease, and diagnostic information. 50% of U.S. physicians utilize Epocrates for drug reference. There is a feature to check drug interactions between up to thirty drug at once.




Medscape by WebMD

This application features medical news in specialty areas, drug information, drug interaction checker, disease information, procedures information, and clinical reference materials.





Human Anatomy! By SusaSoftX

This application features illustrations of each biological system. These systems can be zoomed in on to see the details. There is also descriptions of each element represented within a biological system.
